Camiguin

This Spectacular jewel is onother of the Philippines' most beautiful remote locations, a place to slip out of the rat race and just relax. In a country renowned globally for its relaxed freindliness, Camiguin is king, Famous among Filipinos for its unrivalled peace and serenity. Volcanism dominate in the form of five massive volcanoes towering over the entire island, one of which - Hibok - Hibok - is active. The grey sand beaches that they have created ensure that this will never become onother boracay-type picture-postcard resort. What it does have,  however - quite apart from superbly freindly locals is a lush forest and farmland landscape, spectacular waterfalls, inviting hotspring and a curious white sand bar a little way offshore that offers a superb view back to the island.

Right: Katibawasan Falls, Camiguin's most spectacular waterfall and a popular attraction for both visitors and locals, cascading down a cliff on the lower slopes of mount Hibok-Hibok.

of Mount Hibok-Hibok. The soil at the foot of the volcano
is immensely fertile, making agriculture slightly risky but
incredibly productive
